Bernadette Scatchard

• Qualified from the Bradford School of Physiotherapy.

• Worked at both St James University Hospital and The LGI before working full time in Private Practice since 1990.

• Team Physiotherapist for Harrogate Town AFC, York RLFC, Castleford Tigers RLFC and

Great Britain Rugby League,

• Secretary to the Rugby League Medical Association in a career spanning 14 years.

• Physiotherapist to the Professional Game Match Officials (PGMOL), looking after the Premier League, FA and FIFA referees for 5 years.

• I continue to maintain an up-to-date portfolio of CPD with specific interest in musculoskeletal medicine.

• My interests outside of work include running, cycling and gardening, including working on my allotment and beekeeping. I have also completed the gruelling 3 Peaks Challenge on more than one occasion, recording very respectable times and ran the 2007 Flora London Marathon in a staggering time of 4 hours 39 minutes!

Marie Griffiths

• Qualified from Withington School of Physiotherapy

• Worked in the NHS at St James University Hospital, Halifax Royal Infirmary and Pinderfields Hospital Spinal Injuries Unit.

• Commenced a Masters programme in Musculoskeletal studies, completing both upper and lower limb modules at this level, gaining a Post Graduate Certificate.

• Team Physiotherapist for Morley RUFC, Yorkshire RUFC u21’s & North of England RUFC u21’s, becoming the first female at Twickenham Stadium when Yorkshire U21s won the County Championship.

• Team Physiotherapist at Bradford Bulls RLFC for 6 years.

• Physiotherapist to Professional Game Match Officials (PGMOL), looking after the Premier League, FA and FIFA referees for 5 years.

• I enjoy cycling, walking and going to the gym. I completed The Great Yorkshire Bike Ride and joined Martin Atkinson (Premiership Referee) on a 75 mile leg of his Whistle Stop Tour. I have previously run regularly at half marathon and 10K distances, raising thousands of pounds for local and national charities.

We were the official physiotherapists to the Professional Game Match Officials (PGMOL) to the Premier League and the FA and had many years’ experience in professional and amateur rugby as well as semi-professional football.

We continue to work with leading theatre and dance groups as well as professional and amateur musicians, so we have a wealth of knowledge of managing a variety of injuries and conditions. The West Yorkshire Playhouse, Opera North, Northern Ballet Theatre, a number of West End Touring Production Companies and Phoenix Dance.

We have also worked for many years in Occupational Health, running weekly clinics onsite at Greggs main bakery and more recently with the engineering company AETC Ltd UK. We continue to link with Schneider Electric Leeds and East Midlands Railway helping to support their employees at work.

We have also worked for many years with Opera North and continue to do so, as well as having worked with The West Yorkshire Playhouse, Phoenix Dance and Northern School of Contemporary Dance.
